Girls Human Rights Hub

Overview

Sultana is the founder of the Girls Human Rights Hub (GHRH), a platform dedicated to empowering girls and young women aged 11-24. GHRH provides a safe and inclusive space where girls learn to harness the tools of advocacy, leadership, and litigation. Through this, they become advocates for their own rights and for the rights of their peers.

Central to GHRH's mission is the belief that every girl is entitled to a life free from oppression, discrimination, and violence.

The platform's 'Knowledge Hub' offers a unique learning experience, equipping girls with an understanding of their rights as per international human rights law. This knowledge serves as a catalyst for action, empowering them to challenge societal norms and practices that perpetuate inequality and injustice.

The 'Advocacy Hub' amplifies the passion of these girls, channeling it into effective action. This empowerment not only grants them a 'seat at the table' but also ensures that their influence is felt on issues that resonate with them.

Through the 'Leadership Hub,' GHRH cultivates transformative skills that enable girls to become effective advocates for their own rights. Leadership, in this context, is not merely a title, but a set of skills that allows them to articulate their ideas, persuade others, and effect positive change within their communities.

One of the cornerstones of GHRH's impact is the 'Young Lawyers Hub.' This initiative creates a generation of legal advocates dedicated to the promotion and protection of girls' human rights. Young female lawyers receive training and fellowship opportunities, gaining the tools to navigate legal mechanisms effectively and gaining hands-on experience in the field.

By providing girls with the knowledge, skills, and platform to claim their rights, GHRH looks forward to a more just and equitable future for all.
